SSiP promotes a minimum standard of health and safety assessment. This standard – the Core Criteria – was adopted by SSiP when the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) came into force. SSiP member health and safety assessment schemes must incorporate the core criteria standard into their assessment of contractor organisational capability.
Constructionline conduct a number of validation checks that they know are of interest to many buyers, using an enhanced prequalification questionnaire that goes beyond PAS 91. They assess a company’s credentials for environmental management, quality management, equal opportunities, modern slavery act adherence and anti-bribery and corruption policies. Some of these policies form part of the Cabinet Office Selection Questionnaire (SQ), which the public sector is expected to comply with.
As well as enhanced prequalification, all Gold members are assessed for SSIP. Their Acclaim team is accredited to assess and award ‘Deemed to Satisfy’ SSIP certificates for health and safety – something that all construction buyers look for in supplier selection.
Since launch in 2012, Acclaim has added to its Health and Safety products to allow companies to get a complete view of the Health and Safety of their business through the acclaim accreditation offerings, Acclaim Accreditation and Acclaim Advisory.
Acclaim Accreditation is the Health and Safety accreditation service provided by Supplier Assessment Services. This involves an online assessment of our company’s Health and Safety documentation and work activities as an independent competent assurance of the systems you have in place. As an SSIP members scheme, Acclaim Accreditation supports the objectives of SSIP (Safety Schemes In Procurement) to improve health and safety standards across the UK and reduce duplication of paperwork in procurement.
